Back on the bus though and down to Llangollen. I was sure I’d never been there before, but the minute I got there I remembered I had been there in about 1989.
It was instantly familiar, with a beautiful railway station next to the river, the taxidermy shop on the corner and the cafe where I’d bought welsh cakes and ice cream almost thirty years ago. The town doesn’t seem to have changed much. It is still small and very picturesque.
