Kutná Hora, The Town of Two Cathedrals

Every city I visit, my #1 stop is the cathedral. So imagine my excitement of learning about Kutná Hora, Czech Republic with its nickname, ‘A Town of Two Cathedrals’! And as a spectacular bonus, Kutná Hora has an ossuary church, aka a bone church. The Sedlec Ossuary is world-famous.

Hundertwasserhaus, elegant and shabby at the same time

You can spot the Hundertwasserhaus from all the way down the street. The facade is colorful, asymmetrical, and inviting, patchwork blues and reds on the building creating striking contrast with the gold fountain in front and the green leafy trees framing it. Somehow elegant and shabby at the same time.

Cartagena, one of the finest ports in the Mediterranean

The city of Cartagena had it’s heyday during the Roman Empire and it was one of the most important naval ports in Spain. It has the most amazing Roman Theatre and a plethora of amazing Art Nouveau buildings as a result of the bourgeoisie and we saw it all.

Not a single soul in Fjällbacka

Riding into Fjällbacka was a dream. It’s the most picturesque town I have ever been to. Tiny white houses with red roofs line the rocky shore over crystal blue waters. It’s a small town and it felt even smaller because we literally didn’t see a single person while crossing through the town north to south, in search of our campground.

Flåm is Norway in a nutshell

A friend once asked me: “Why did you choose Flåm?”. My immediate reply was: “Have you seen the photos?? Goggle it as they speak for themselves!”.

Flåm, a remote township in the middle of the Noreign fjords, is a little slice of picture-perfect paradise. It is a part of the world where nature is still seemingly unspoiled, leaving us in awe of its power and majesty.
