Before visiting Croatia, what came to mind was its beautiful coastlines dotted with enchanting old towns. What I found more unexpected after my recent trip was its jaw-droppingly stunning national parks, none more so than Krka National Park.
Situated around an hour and a half from Split, the park is perfect for a sunny day of hiking, swimming, exploring, and just enjoying nature.

I arrived in Dubrovnik in the peak of Summer. It was so hot, that I found myself lounging around on pebbled beaches, dipping in and out of the Adriatic Sea, eating at least a gelato a day and drinking ice-cold beer until the sun went down.

Sometimes, words don’t do a place justice, so I will keep this brief. Aquamarine pools, waterfalls bubbling over green moss and water shooting down from the earth like a natural fountain makes this park a truly special place.

During our time in Croatia we did spend a fair amount of time just lounging by the spectacular coast and we often found really nice spots for our camper close to the sea. We tried to take it easy and spend a few days in a place, dividing our time between playing games, the beach, everyday activities like eating, shopping, and also seeing a few of the local highlights.

When doing our research on Vanlife in Croatia before setting off, we heard mixed things. Everyone will tell you, correctly, that wild camping is illegal in Croatia but so far, two weeks in, we have had no trouble whatsoever.
