Larochette Castle rewards you with a King’s view

First thing you’ll notice is the backdrop of Larochette Castle which gives the town a fairy tale feel! To top it off the cobbled narrow streets definitely add to the magical feel. On our first venture out we explored some of the towns lovely little cafes surrounding the square with great views of the medieval castle.

Visby is often called “The City of Roses”

It’s hard to overstate the beauty of the Hanseatic port town of Visby (Sweden), in itself justification for making the ferry trip to Gotland. Inside its thick medieval walls are twisting cobblestone streets, fairy-tale cottages draped in flowers, and gorgeous ruins atop hills with stunning Baltic views.

Snow globe village Colmar

Colmar is one of those villages you’d find in a snow globe, that’s how beautiful and charming it is. The very well preserved historical old town with its cobbled streets is a bit of a time trap, taking you back several hundred of years.

Giethoorn, Venice of the North

Giethoorn has such a simple beauty that it hardly seems real. A bohemian canal, small wooden bridges, vivid flowers and pretty thatched-roof farmhouses and a fairytale-like garden. I felt like I was in a completely different time period! It was absolutely stunning!
